lyrics

What’s a noble song
A shoulder that you cry upon?
Or is it just a sermon to the brave?

First there was the word
Second was the metaphor
A rotten hand that beckons from the grave

Invisible colours
Coming out to haunt us
I can hardly notice
What lurks beneath the covers

Faith is in the numbers
Like dragonflies above us
I can hardly notice
Forever changing summers

In the hollow night
A figure holds the camera
Demanding that we keep our eyes in the frame

Paint this lonely world
In iambic pentameter
To break the spell that binds you in his name

Invisible colours
Coming out to haunt us
I can hardly notice
What lurks beneath the covers

Faith is in the numbers
Like dragonflies above us
I can hardly notice
Forever changing summers

And why would I put a mirror
Up to all injustice and evil
Like I’m right?

(The second is the metaphor)

And why would I be a vessel
For all pain and suffering
When I can still fight?

(A shoulder that you cry upon)

--

Invisible colours
Coming out to haunt us
I can hardly notice
What lurks beneath the covers

Faith is in the numbers
Like dragonflies above us
I can hardly notice
Forever changing summers
